About a month ago I noticed that the pupu (poop) of my bebe (baby) has some reddish spots. Being new into parenthood, I didn’t know what that thing is. I consulted several people: my mother-in-law, my sister, and officemates. Some told me that it is just natural, substances that a new born must excrete out of his body. Others, tell tales that puts worry on my face. After 4 days of tormenting myself on what it is, I decided to bring him to his pedia. Immediately the doctor pointed out that the blood was caused by seizure below his scrotum which ejects red spots when he makes pupu. Also, it was a case of overfeeding as my bebe is a formula drinker (he was breast fed for only a few weeks). The average weight gain of babies in a month is about 2lbs but my bebe gained 3lbs in 3 weeks alone. I felt a sigh of relief as I thought it was already amoebiasis. Nonetheless, she prescribed me to buy some antibiotics and moisturizing cream too ease the pain of my bebe when he makes pupu and wiwi (urinate). She also diluted his formula to 3 oz to a scoop.
